Part #: DI-180511 Schneider National - Road # TBA - PlateWall RoadRailer Trailer - Single
Schneider National started with a fleet of 53' bimodal RoadRailer trailers. One of the largest truckload carriers in the US, in 1994 Schneider said it decided to go with RoadRailer technology instead of investing in domestic containers, which it said did not have enough operational flexibility compared to conventional TOFC. There are 13 different road numbers in this run set up for rail use and 2 for highway use. |

Triple Crown Large Logo Roadrailer - Set 1 Part #: DI-180200
This version of the Triple Crown paint scheme was used on the
original orders of 53' Plate Wall RoadRailer trailers. It was
an adaptation of the scheme used on Triple Crown's original
48 footers. It differs in several ways from the previous deLuxe
TCS releases. First, the logos are much larger (including the
NS and Conrail logos.) Second, the name was "Triple Crown
Service" at that time and only later changed to "Triple
Crown Services." Third, the main logo appears toward the
right and NS/CR logos toward the left on both sides of the trailer.
Later versions (see the comparison below) always had the main
logo toward the door end and the NS/CR logos toward the nose
end on both sides. Fourth, the conspicuity (reflector) stripes
are silver instead of red. Originally the Conrail "wheel
and rail" logos were applied so the "rail" always
pointed toward the nose of the trailer. Indeed, this is the
case on the drivers' side of the trailer. But for some reason,
half of the passenger sides received rail-leading logos and
half received wheel-leading logos (see both photos.) Each 10
pack in this release has one version of the Conrail logo on
the passenger side. The vast majority of Triple Crown RoadRailer
trailers that were delivered in this paint scheme still wear
it. These are available in singles and two different 10 packs
for a total of 21 different road numbers. Each 10 pack contains
a CouplerMate® rail bogie for connecting a RoadRailer®
string to standard rail equipment. |

Item Description
|
|
Stock Checks:
Inventory is a fluid commodity. It changes by the
hour (sometimes by the minute). To retain our pricing structure
we maintain stock levels designed to turnover 6 times each
year. We cannot guarantee stock status till we have an order
in hand. All product is subject to prior sale. If we confirm
that we have it, and, while we are waiting for the order
it sells, you would be upset that we did not hold it.
We used to hold items but learned a VERY EXPENSIVE lesson.
When we held items for customers’ orders, the order
never materialized 80%+ of the time. We lost out on
the orders placed while the item was on hold. Also
we wasted staff time that could have been used to pull actual
orders.
Since we are well known for finding older stock the fact
that it may not be on our shelves at this minute does not
mean we can’t get it. So, as we spell out on our terms
pages, we don’t do it anymore. You may, however, call in and we will tell you if the items
are available and if possible attempt to locate what we
don’t have while you are on the phone. |
