Time for the announcement of the Annual Christmas Car.
Data Related to the 2013 Cars:
Greetings Everyone,
Today we are happy to announce this year's release of 2013 Christmas Cars. While not even Thanksgiving yet, we have had numerous request if there will be a car this year. The answer is no - there will be 3 (2 new and a re-run)!
We start with a Prototype Christmas model. The model is based on Milwaukee Road Caboose #02012, It was built in 1946 at the Milwaukee Road shops and put in many years of service throughout the system. Now privately owned, the caboose was completely refurbished to its original look and resides in Central Wisconsin. It can be seen a few times each year, often being pulled by restored SOO #1003 (2-8-2) when it is out and running. For several years now, the caboose has been decorated with Christmas wreaths and a large “Santa” banner is hung on the sides. Santa then visits several communities along the tracks in late Nov and early Dec. This year we are happy to add “Santa” banners to our 1946 built caboose with a low bay window and straight frame trucks. Your N Scale Santa will be able to roam your layout in style this winter with a prototype Christmas Caboose.
Next up is the first release of our new Canstock car (The regular versions will be delivered in Dec.) It is decorated with rolling hills and snowflakes with "Merry Christmas 2013" on the sides. Road number FVM 122513
The last car is a re-run of our 2012 edition. The hopper with alternate printing on both sides proved extremely popular last year. We are bringing back a limited amount with a small change to mark the 2013 versions - the small reflectors were changed from white to yellow on this run. We will start shipping these late next week after we recover from Trainfest this weekend. Get your orders in early as quantities are limited. |
Data for the 2012 Car:
This year we are using the RD-4 hopper that follows an old Holiday theme. Both sides of the car have a checklist for "Naughty or Nice" On the left side of the car, "Naughty" is checked and you are directed to an abundance of coal to fill your stockings. On the right side, "Nice" is checked and you are directed to a wonderful gift. These cars are in production and we have been advised delivery will be before the holidays. However, we do not have a firm date yet - so please be advised it may be after Christmas. The cars are limited to 24 copies, so reserve yours today and we will ship as soon as they become available. |

Stock Checks:
Inventory is a fluid commodity. It changes by the
hour (sometimes by the minute). To retain our pricing structure
we maintain stock levels designed to turnover 6 times each
year. We cannot guarantee stock status till we have an order
in hand. All product is subject to prior sale. If we confirm
that we have it, and, while we are waiting for the order
it sells, you would be upset that we did not hold it.
We used to hold items but learned a VERY EXPENSIVE lesson.
When we held items for customers’ orders, the order
never materialized 80%+ of the time. We lost out on
the orders placed while the item was on hold. Also
we wasted staff time that could have been used to pull actual
orders.
Since we are well known for finding older stock the fact
that it may not be on our shelves at this minute does not
mean we can’t get it. So, as we spell out on our terms
pages, we don’t do it anymore. You may, however, call in and we will tell you if the items
are available and if possible attempt to locate what we
don’t have while you are on the phone. |
