Stock Checks:

Inventory is a fluid commodity.  It changes by the hour (sometimes by the minute). To retain our pricing structure we maintain stock levels designed to turnover 6 times each year. We cannot guarantee stock status till we have an order in hand. All product is subject to prior sale. If we confirm that we have it - and - while we are waiting for the order it sells - you would be upset that we did not hold it.

We used to hold items but learned a VERY EXPENSIVE lesson. When we held items for customers’ orders - the order never materialized 80%+ of the time.  We lost out on the orders placed while the item was on hold.  Also we wasted staff time that could have been used to pull actual orders.

Since we are well known for finding older stock the fact that it may not be on our shelves at this minute does not mean we can’t get it. So - as we spell out on our terms pages - we don’t do it anymore. You may - however - call in and we will tell you if the items are available and if possible attempt to locate what we don’t have while you are on the phone.

Please place your order using our SECURE Shopping Cart site:
http://wig-wag-trains-cart.com/home

If you MUST send an e-mail inquiry - copy & paste the entire description TEXT ONLY (NO pictures!) from the item you are ordering into your e-mail.
It will save time and reduce confusion in determining what you are inquiring about.
With the quantity of lines we carry it's not possible to memorize all of them.

Atlas Model Railroad Co. Agrees to Purchase BLMA Models Inc.

HILLSIDE, New Jersey: Effective immediately, Atlas Model Railroad Co., has agreed to purchase BLMA Models Inc., of Fullerton, California. Founded in 2000, BLMA manufactures quality HO, N, and Z scale rolling stock and accessories.  Upon completion of the acquisition, Atlas will own and release all current tooling, inventory, and will continue with production plans outlined by BLMA, prior to the sale.

Craig Martyn, Founder and President of BLMA Models, stated:

“What started as a hobby business 16 years ago has turned into something larger than I ever expected.  The experiences, knowledge, and most importantly, the friendships gained through developing BLMA have been life changing, and I will be forever grateful to the many that supported my endeavors.”

“This acquisition marks a bold new chapter for Atlas, and the evolution of my professional career as well. The purchase of BLMA ensures that enthusiasts will see more product releases than ever before, a continued legacy of attention to detail, and the future production of highly sought after models. I will now be able to dedicate my energy and invest more of my time into www.MyMetalBusinessCard.com, which has seen rapid growth since I launched the company in 2011.”

“To my industry connections and hobby enthusiasts, this is not a goodbye – I look forward to seeing you on the other side of the aisle, once again enjoying the great hobby of model railroading.  Thank you for your unwavering support over the years, and cheers to our kindred connection today and always.”

For 60+ years, Atlas has been a leader in the world of model railroading. Atlas has its roots in model railroad track and accessory making through invention, innovation, and ingenuity. Atlas has a proud reputation as a family-owned business and is well known for quality and excellence. Between Atlas and Atlas O, they manufacture track, locomotives, rolling stock, and structures in N, HO, O and O-27 scales. No matter your scale, you'll find the products you need and that "You're on the Right Track®...With Atlas".

Paul Graf, Chief Executive Officer of Atlas Model Railroad Co, stated:

“BLMA’s reputation for detail and prototypical accuracy is compatible with Atlas’.  The HO and N rolling stock will fit seamlessly into the Atlas Master line of products.  The details and accessories are a perfect complement to Atlas’ existing product line.”

“We have known Craig since he first entered the market, and have had a good relationship with him and BLMA through the years.  We are happy that Craig will be able to work with Atlas over the coming years as we incorporate the BLMA products into Atlas’ line, as well as bring some of BLMA’s planned new products to fruition.  We plan to make the announcement of the first product from BLMA’s existing products as soon as the purchase is completed.”

On January 6th, 2016, BLMA will stop selling product direct, in preparation of shipping the inventory to Atlas.  During the transition, BLMA will process open orders for pre-ordered rolling stock, though Atlas will physically fulfill the orders.  These models include:

  • N scale GSC 60’ Flat Car (Run #2)
  • N scale ACF 52’ Gondola (Run #3)
  • N scale Trinity 31K Crude Oil Tank Cars
  • HO & N Trinity 5660 Covered Hoppers
  • HO & N Trinity 64’ Modern Reefers – Tropicana
  • HO & N Bx-166 60’ Box Car – BNSF

In the coming years, Craig will work as a consultant to Atlas, ensuring a smooth transition, assistance on development and help with marketing.  Atlas expects to release many popular BLMA items with all-new numbers, paint schemes, and more.  Furthermore, Atlas will develop and release items already scheduled internally by BLMA.

You will continue to see new announcements below in the date series when they were announced but with challenges both on the railroad where he works and with the weather he has had to make numerous trips back and forth to suppliers.

Additionally with the murder of his 1st cousin in Denver and the pending funeral life has intruded on the normal routine.

November 1 - Pontification Time: While I hunkered down here in Mogote bivouacked near the RR working on the Rapido announcement (that I hope will be complete in an hour) I was listening to Sirius XM 70's on 7 for Casey Kasem's American Top 40.  As he counted down to Gladys Knight & the Pips Midnight Train to Georgia (their first #1 on 10/27/73) I was once again reminded of Sunday nights spent doing homework and counting down with Kasey.  Then I was troubled by all the consternation the Casem family has gone through since his passing.  I sit here in the cold of the San Luis Valley and pray that they can once and finally find the peace and tranquility that Kasey brought so many of my generation especially as he concluded each week with this phrase: "Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the Stars."  Now that AT40 has concluded for this week I will put in the Garth Brooks DVD from Wynn Las Vegas - the "Blame it all on My Roots" Concert.   What better day can one have?

A Note on Stock Status:
Not all items can be in stock at all times. Due to minimum order requirements from manufacturers and distributors and shipping charges - we "bunch" up re-orders to save you money. Sometimes it takes longer - but we can continue to offer the item at a substantial discount that way.

Confused about Reservations?
Please consider that this is the way we pay the bills and put food on the table. Taking pre-orders allows us to order enough to cover known demand. We attempt to gauge (ok - guess) how many will be ordered after the order deadline plus allow us to have the item in stock for 45-60 days after shipment by the manufacturer.
Sometimes we get it right and sometimes we don't. Occasionally - when an item is not likely to be produced again (D&RGW H-15-44s for example) we order beyond our guess to have a few for longer than that.
