Inventory is a fluid commodity. It changes by the
hour (sometimes by the minute). To retain our pricing structure
we maintain stock levels designed to turnover 6 times each
year. We cannot guarantee stock status till we have an order
in hand. All product is subject to prior sale. If we confirm
that we have it, and, while we are waiting for the order
it sells, you would be upset that we did not hold it.
We used to hold items but learned a VERY EXPENSIVE lesson.
When we held items for customers’ orders, the order
never materialized 80%+ of the time. We lost out on
the orders placed while the item was on hold. Also
we wasted staff time that could have been used to pull actual
orders.
Since we are well known for finding older stock the fact
that it may not be on our shelves at this minute does not
mean we can’t get it. So, as we spell out on our terms
pages, we don’t do it anymore. You may, however, call in and we will tell you if the items
are available and if possible attempt to locate what we
don’t have while you are on the phone. |

| September 18th thru 21st - "Breathe Deeply and Hold It #4!" George will undergo his fourth surgery to clear the Olfactory Neuroblastoma and related scarring as a result of prior surgery and radiation treatments. This surgery should take 5.5 hours and is being done at the USC Keck Medical Center (yes 850+ miles away in Los Angeles) where one of the two physicians in the USA qualified to perform endoscopic opening of the frontal sinus is resident. Dr Wrobel is confident that all will go well. If she is right we should re-open the shop and phone lines on 09/24 like normal. |

September 14 & 15 - "Oh Holy Rails #3!" We will put on our third annual Train Show in Vaughn, NM to assist St. Mary's Church with their annual Fiesta. Our full layout will be setup in the Fire Station once again. Another great idea, come to Vaughn in 51 days, see the N-Trak layout running various railroads including BNSF, MKT, UP, and possibly DRGW, PC & NYC. You can also see , MANY, MANY 12":1' trains on BNSF & UP. And of course the main purpose for us is to participate in the Church Fiesta. The Vaughn area rivals many for access and great scenery for train photography. The merger of the NYC and Pennsylvania resulted in the Penn Central and ultimately lead to the collapse of rail service in the Northeast and eventual creation of Conrail.
