Inventory is a fluid commodity.  It changes by the hour (sometimes by the minute). To retain our pricing structure we maintain stock levels designed to turnover 6 times each year. We cannot guarantee stock status till we have an order in hand. All product is subject to prior sale. If we confirm that we have it, and, while we are waiting for the order it sells, you would be upset that we did not hold it.
We used to hold items but learned a VERY EXPENSIVE lesson. When we held items for customers’ orders, the order never materialized 80%+ of the time.  We lost out on the orders placed while the item was on hold.  Also we wasted staff time that could have been used to pull actual orders.
Since we are well known for finding older stock the fact that it may not be on our shelves at this minute does not mean we can’t get it. So, as we spell out on our terms pages, we don’t do it anymore. You may, however, call in and we will tell you if the items are available and if possible attempt to locate what we don’t have while you are on the phone.

February 20 -- George and Debra have returned from City of Hope hospital and have resumed processing orders. George was called back to the hospital for additional pre-op tests after traveling about 420 of the 706 miles back to the shop.  That of course made for a restless night and day until he met with Dr. Sandoval and she indicated what had been noted was not life threatening nor a roadblock to the surgery on March 8th.  Of course, "just to be sure" he gets to have another CT Scan the afternoon before the surgery so we will leave a little earlier than originally planned on 03/06/2012.  The I-40/I-15/I-210 drive is becoming even more routine than it had been.  I think we now are familiar with every inch of horrendously poorly maintained freeway in western Arizona and eastern California.  For having a governor from the same party as the current federal administration one would think that CA could get some road funds to fix I-40 from the AZ state line to Barstow. 

Oh and for those who have suggested to the contrary, George is not going to City of Hope to chat with this performer:   or this one:   nor has he met these two: and he wasn't there to see this one: rock the house at the City of Hope benefit concert either.  We do however appreciate and applaud them for helping to continue the excellent work at City of Hope.  The concert was apparently held in 2008 before George's initial diagnosis in 2009 and we thank all of the performers that helped support the wonderful caregivers @ CofH.

February 20 -- We just learned that Athearn has once again declined to announce any N-Scale releases for Pre-order in February.  This relates to the factory that closed in China which was their major N-Scale supplier.  As soon a a new supplier has been secured we feel confident that they will again resume N-scale production.

February 18 -- We will close the storefront and phone lines beginning at 5:00pm on Saturday February 18th 2012 and reopen on Wednesday February 22nd.  George and Debra must travel to City of Hope Cancer Center in California for George’s Pre-Operative procedures.

February 09 -- NJ International has upgraded their electronic systems and has a new US company producing their boards and cables.  Two of the systems are completed and in stock: #8000 ServoMaster and #8007 Station Master.  The other two remaining systems #8004 FlashMaster and #8006 ABS Signal system will be retooled in the coming months.  If you are interested in these items place your orders now.

February 03 -- In a recent e-mail swap with Matt we received an update relating to the upcoming GP60M & GP60B delivery.  Matt stated in part, "...China is just getting back to work from the (Chinese) New Year holiday and there are a few more things to do on the 60's. My hope is to have good plastic by late March and have production soon after that. I'll keep everyone posted as I get more info over the next few weeks...".  Ok you know where you stand.  If you haven't decided, now is the time.  While we have dozens available for most if not all part numbers for additional Pre-Orders we will likely see them disappear over the next 3 weeks.

January 30 -- Micro-Trains® Line has announced their deliveries for February.  One of the largest N-Scale months in several years!  Thirteen yes 13, items are being delivered this month including the long anticipated but not previously available for Pre-Order Presidential FT B-Unit and a caboose MTL has stated was a one-of-a-kind (there were actually two).
