Inventory is a fluid commodity.  It changes by the hour (sometimes by the minute). To retain our pricing structure we maintain stock levels designed to turnover 6 times each year. We cannot guarantee stock status till we have an order in hand. All product is subject to prior sale. If we confirm that we have it, and, while we are waiting for the order it sells, you would be upset that we did not hold it.
We used to hold items but learned a VERY EXPENSIVE lesson. When we held items for customers’ orders, the order never materialized 80%+ of the time.  We lost out on the orders placed while the item was on hold.  Also we wasted staff time that could have been used to pull actual orders.
Since we are well known for finding older stock the fact that it may not be on our shelves at this minute does not mean we can’t get it. So, as we spell out on our terms pages, we don’t do it anymore. You may, however, call in and we will tell you if the items are available and if possible attempt to locate what we don’t have while you are on the phone.

January 24 -- Atlas has announced what has hit the water this month. Expected to arrive January 30th are the Atlas Trainman 50' 6" Boxcars. When taking a look at these we noticed that there were some part numbers we did not have up on our page, when we asked Atlas they confirmed that they produced a few more boxcars! This is the first we have heard of them. There is a NEW Burlington Northern, Green Bay Western, Hillsdale County, Union Pacific and Vermont Northern coming! Take a look at that page and the new cars will have the same blue background as this line so that you do not double order product already ordered. We hope to have these cars by February 7th. We are not sure how many are left of the boxcars but we will do our best to get you what you want. There is still room to pre-order what was originally announced in the fifth release as well. January 17 -- Eastern Seaboard Models with Intermountain has announced a new model of boxcars to hit the shelves February/March 2012. January 15 -- Micro-Trains® Line has announced that more Wagon sets are coming for the Ringling Brothers Circus series. With new paint schemes, the next group will deliver in March. If you placed an order for the compete series we have of course already covered your orders. January 04 -- Kato has announced two more of the Amtrak 40th Anniversary Locomotives (now all we need are the 40th Anniversary F40PH's to complete the fleet).  These should be delivered in May 2012.  Pre-Orders close at Wig-Wag on January 23rd.

January 3 -- ExactRail has announced the imminent delivery of their Trinity TRINCool 64' Reefer cars.  They will ship beginning on Tuesday 01/10/2012.  We took Pre-Orders for these beginning 08/07/2010.  Those orders are still here and will be filled but customers who pre-ordered them should be aware there has been a price increase of $5.00 MSRP which means our Pre-Order price must be adjusted as well. Please look at them and decide if you wish to change your order.  YOU MUST MODIFY YOUR ORDER BY E-MAIL since we are at the Anaheim Show and cannot take calls. We will accept additional Pre-orders by e-mail until ExactRail tells us they are sold out or our final order goes in on 01/10/2012. Other ExactRail items may be ordered as well.  We will add them to our order for shipment with these cars.

January 3 -- Fox Valley has just announced a new model of Milwaukee boxcars.  The 50ft Single Door Rib Sided Boxcars will be rolling in the 2nd quarter of 2012.  These boxcars feature all NEW tooling in N Scale, and are equipped with Fox Valley Model metal wheelsets and Micro-Trains couplers.  Pre-Orders close at Wig-Wag on January 28th.
