Inventory is a fluid commodity. It changes by the
hour (sometimes by the minute). To retain our pricing structure
we maintain stock levels designed to turnover 6 times each
year. We cannot guarantee stock status till we have an order
in hand. All product is subject to prior sale. If we confirm
that we have it, and, while we are waiting for the order
it sells, you would be upset that we did not hold it.
We used to hold items but learned a VERY EXPENSIVE lesson.
When we held items for customers’ orders, the order
never materialized 80%+ of the time. We lost out on
the orders placed while the item was on hold. Also
we wasted staff time that could have been used to pull actual
orders.
Since we are well known for finding older stock the fact
that it may not be on our shelves at this minute does not
mean we can’t get it. So, as we spell out on our terms
pages, we don’t do it anymore. You may, however, call in and we will tell you if the items
are available and if possible attempt to locate what we
don’t have while you are on the phone. |

January 24 - Athearn has FINALLY announced a new release of the 30,000gallon Ethanol Tank cars for delivery in August. Each of these six road names will come with a total of 10 road numbers. January 16 - Rapido has announced A TOTALLY NEW MODEL for N-Scale! The Osgood-Bradley lightweight coaches are coming to N-Scale finally. There was a modeler who begged for these at least once a week on the Atlas Forum. He called them "American Flyer" cars. We hope he lived long enough to see them announced. This new model will be coming in seven paint schemes and four road names. Each with multiple road numbers (as many as 11). Delivery should be late this year. January 16 - BLMA has announced a new release of the UP/ARMN 64' Mechanical Refrigerator cars with the update/new Carrier reefer units. Once again 24 road numbers will be coming. January 17 - Kato has announced TWO new trainsets for delivery in May/June including VIA Rail Canada and Illinois Central. Appropriate quantities of EMD E8/9 A and B-units are coming along with a 6-car set and a 4-car set of passenger cars. January 09 - Rapido has announced a new locomotive that will come with a Dual-mode decoder or ESU Loksound pre-installed. December 21 - We apologize for any confusion or shipping delays that happened over the last 3 days. One of our owners experienced what appeared to be a stroke which put her in the hospital. We were very fortunate in that the doctors ultimately diagnosed the incident as Transient Global Amnesia. She has recovered and was back at the Shop in Albuquerque on 12/26. She appears to have lost only her memory for only about the 13-15 hours that the attack persisted. During the attack she could not remember some things that had happened as much as 13 years ago. The rest of her memory has come back but it took some time. We had to keep the shop closed for several days after she suffered a second injury which that time was a major one to the sciatic nerve. The pain registered an 18 on a scale of 10. She was unable to walk or sit. George came down to Abq. from trackside in Colorado to assist her and do what he could. Please understand that your health like ours is more important than any hobby and her health was of course more important than getting orders out the door. |

December 6 - Kato has announced their first release of the EMD F-2 locomotives for delivery in April. These were small market locomotives that were typically used by railroads that had purchased the FT but found that a 3-unit set would work as well and save costs over the 4-unit FT. Kato has chosen four road names that include two rarely done by Kato. One may have never been done before. One model was externally an F2 but internally an F3. | November 04 - Fox Valley Models has announced their Holiday releases for 2013 and we have them posted here and on the Shopping Cart Site. Two all new ones and a third very popular car coming in a modified rerun. We'll let Matt put it in his own words: "Today we are happy to announce this year's release of 2013 Christmas Cars. While not even Thanksgiving yet, we have had numerous request if there will be a car this year. The answer is no - there will be 3 (2 new and a re-run)!
We start with a Prototype Christmas model. The model is based on Milwaukee Road Caboose #02012, It was built in 1946 at the Milwaukee Road shops and put in many years of service throughout the system. Now privately owned, the caboose was completely refurbished to its original look and resides in Central Wisconsin. It can be seen a few times each year, often being pulled by restored SOO #1003 (2-8-2) when it is out and running. For several years now, the caboose has been decorated with Christmas wreaths and a large “Santa” banner is hung on the sides. Santa then visits several communities along the tracks in late Nov and early Dec. This year we are happy to add “Santa” banners to our 1946 built caboose with a low bay window and straight frame trucks. Your N Scale Santa will be able to roam your layout in style this winter with a prototype Christmas Caboose.
Next up is the first release of our new Canstock car (The regular versions will be delivered in Dec.) It is decorated with rolling hills and snowflakes with "Merry Christmas 2013" on the sides. Road number FVM 122513
The last car is a re-run of our 2012 edition. The hopper with alternate printing on both sides proved extremely popular last year. We are bringing back a limited amount with a small change to mark the 2013 versions - the small reflectors were changed from white to yellow on this run. | October 14 - Fox Valley Models has announced the second release of the GP60M & GP60B locomotives will be here in November. YOUR orders are needed now as they are already in production in very limited quantities. We will place our initial order @ 0800 on 10/15/2013. The Maersk promotional scheme and the BNSF H3 scheme are being done. As of now only three units went into the 2005 or 'Swoosh' scheme so only that amount will be done. As to the color of the Maersk loco, Matt included this note: "A side note on the Maersk unit regarding color. While the color was matched to a paint called "Maersk Blue", it may be a bit dark for some folks, while others are happy with it. So here is the deal. If you just have to have a Maersk unit now and like the color, you are in luck as you will have it shortly. If you prefer a lighter baby-blue color, we will run additional units in mid to late 2014 with a new hue. October 14 - Fox Valley Models' announcement e-mail was very informative. We are printing it below for your perusal:
"Greetings Everyone,
We are pleased to announce two additional paint schemes on the GP60M & B locomotives - BNSF H3 (Wedge scheme) and Maersk. To date, BNSF has only painted a few of these locomotives in the latest scheme and we are offering all three - two M's and one B unit. The Santa Fe painted one locomotive for Maersk for promotional purposes. The modified war bonnet scheme was worn for only a short time before being painted back into traditional red and silver. These four locomotives will start shipping the first week of Nov. Quantities are finite, so please order as needed. The flyer and Excel sheet are attached.
Shipping updates:
The ATSF GP60s are now sold out and the BNSF green/orange units are on their ways to store shelves now.
The HO & N Hiawatha locomotives and cars will start shipping to stores this week.
The newly announced GPs above will start shipping in early Nov. HO & N Express Cars and Bunk Coaches will follow and the 2013 N Scale Christmas cars will ship the 3rd week of Nov. (watch for that announcement in a few weeks).
Dec will be busy with HO & N Wagontops, N Canstock cars and the rerun of N Heritage GEVOs.
