Stock Checks:
Inventory is a fluid commodity. It changes by the
hour (sometimes by the minute). To retain our pricing structure
we maintain stock levels designed to turnover 6 times each
year. We cannot guarantee stock status till we have an order
in hand. All product is subject to prior sale. If we confirm
that we have it, and, while we are waiting for the order
it sells, you would be upset that we did not hold it.
We used to hold items but learned a VERY EXPENSIVE lesson.
When we held items for customers’ orders, the order
never materialized 80%+ of the time. We lost out on
the orders placed while the item was on hold. Also
we wasted staff time that could have been used to pull actual
orders.
Since we are well known for finding older stock the fact
that it may not be on our shelves at this minute does not
mean we can’t get it. So, as we spell out on our terms
pages, we don’t do it anymore. You may, however, call in and we will tell you if the items
are available and if possible attempt to locate what we
don’t have while you are on the phone. |

April 25 -- Bluford Shops recently reported that their factory has increased pricing on all current and future production of the 86-foot Autoparts boxcars including the 4-Door cars and the 8-Door cars. Retail pricing has gone from $24.95 to $29.85. This works out to about a 20% increase. We will hold the line on pricing for all remaining items from the delivered releases of these cars both versions. Not all of them remain available but those that are, are a heck of a deal IF you act now before they go!

April 22 -- Latest update on the Bluford Shops 70-Ton 14-Panel Hoppers. It seems as if the factory has raised the price on the other cars as well. As of right now we are in the process of finding out if all other Bluford pre-orders have had a price increase. We will keep everyone up to date as we find out more. April 22 -- Bluford Shops 70-Ton 14-Panel Hoppers have arrived. There has been some changes in pricing. When announced we were given pricing on all the cars, however the Western Maryland scheme has changed in pricing. We were not notified of the price change until they had arrived to us. We figure the pricing went up because the paint scheme was more difficult than any of their other cars they have done. We have updated our web page to reflect the new pricing.

April 14 --As you all know we have taken on many web projects, whether it be updating product lines or adding new ones to our site. April 11 --Intermountain and Red Caboose have announced a new release of the excellent Bi-Level Autorack for delivery during November / December 2011. Included are six variations including five TTX flats with racks applied by various road names. Pre-Orders for these will be taken till May 26th. Due to the Memorial Day weekend your order needs to be confirmed via e-mail by that date to be included in our order placement. Once we finalize our Pre-order there is no guarantee that late orders can be filled.
